Rather inconspicuous from the outside, the inside is even more charming: the Rothenburg Reichsstadthalle, with its rural charm, fits perfectly into the medieval cityscape. Since its construction at the end of the seventeenth century, it has served as a "tithe barn" - a warehouse within whose walls the "tithe", the tax paid in kind, was previously stored. Today it is embedded in the wonderfully architecturally designed ensemble of the Spitalhof. This unique combination of historic facade and modern interior design (including impressively powerful lighting technology) complement each other to create a warm, engaging atmosphere.

With a capacity of 520 seats in row seating and 220 seats in parliamentary arrangement, the Reichsstadthalle offers an ideal setting for medium-sized meetings and congresses. The hall with attached catering is also ideal for concerts, theater and cabaret events.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to renovation work, the Reichsstadthalle will no longer be rentable from quarter 4/2025. The reopening is planned for spring 2028.

Since the ceremonial inauguration in spring 2017, the new Rothenburg multi-purpose hall on Friedrich-Hörner-Weg has been available for larger sporting events and school sports, as well as for cultural and social events. Close to the old town and conveniently located at the P1 car park (car/bus), the multi-purpose hall is the ideal starting point for excursions and leisure activities in the historic old town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber.

The almost 1.200 m² hall offers space for up to 1.200 visitors. The sports complex can be separated into three parts with folding walls or used as a large playing field. The extendable grandstand offers space for over 400 sports fans and spectators. A stage measuring up to 6 x 10 meters can be used, for example. B. can be set up for concerts. Various seating plans for events and conferences of all kinds are available. Guests are welcomed in the spacious, fully glazed foyer, which offers a view of the entire hall. A modern catering kitchen is available for drinks and smaller meals, which the organizer can operate according to his requirements.

A few decades ago, the volunteer fire department's emergency vehicles were still located on the ground floor of the impressive town hall directly on the market square. The 240 m² large, slightly sloping room is now used primarily for artistic exhibitions, small trade shows and flea markets.

The small theater still retains the good old charm of a proscenium stage. The fixed rows of chairs for around 125 people rise slightly.

Are you planning an event, a team workshop or a conference? By renting out rooms for short-term events for events outside of teaching, we would like to promote scientific and cultural life on the Rothenburg campus.

The total of 8 rooms in different sizes and with a variety of furnishings offer the right setting for almost every occasion. All rooms are barrier-free accessible via an elevator at the back of the main building. Barrier-free toilets are also available. All rooms can be rented for half, full or multiple days. The half-day flat rate applies to a rental period of up to 4 hours, the daily flat rate applies to a rental period of up to 10 hours.

The Rothenburg campus impresses with its location directly on the city wall of the old town, which you can easily reach on foot. There you will find numerous accommodation options, restaurants and sights. There are sufficient parking spaces in the P4 car park (Galgentor). It is also possible to travel by train; the Rothenburg ob der Tauber train station is about 500 m away on foot.
