Local manufacturers – handmade in Rothenburg
You can find items manufactured exclusively in Rothenburg at the “Handmade in Rothenburg” initiative: Local manufacturers have come together in Rothenburg ob der Tauber and have committed themselves to one motto: We show how we produce. Whether at AnRa Mode, allegra chocolate, Leyk's Lichthäuser or the Sweets Company - guests can take a look behind the scenes everywhere.
From the fashion line on Plönlein to the chocolate from Georgengasse to the light house from the Lotus Garden Outside the old town you can find a whole range of handmade products that are only available in Rothenburg.
The variety of souvenirs is huge: AnRa's fashion line is characterized by fashion designed and manufactured in Rothenburg from natural materials. The light houses at Leyk are hand-painted, and in the factory at the Lotus Garden you can see the employees doing their artistic work. Alex Hildebrandt from allegra Chocolate learned his craft as a chocolatier in Switzerland - not a bad omen. His courses for the whole family are a hit at Christmas and Easter. Wood art from the shop window can be admired in Schmiedgasse.
Another special feature of the participants: They all let us look over their shoulders during the production process. At Leyk's lighthouses an insight into the production of the hand-painted originals is possible Chocolate maker Allegra You can even get involved yourself on selected dates and cast your own chocolate figure. You can find the participatory factor outside of the initiative in the Armory, the medieval dressing up in the vault of the store.
